The design process for me is more than just coming up with some shapes on paper which will eventually turn into lawns, patios or flower beds. It is about the ideas behind those shapes. When I find a concept for a garden through artistic expressions like paintings or even films, I tend to get a buzz. Knowing I have an idea, a central theme for my design, I can create gardens that flow naturally and sit in their environments comfortably.

The first stage of the design process is drawing up a sketch design. This will be a scaled plan with enough detail to communicate the layout, materials and basic planting the garden will need. This tends to be sufficient for domestic gardens especially as these are accompanied by my quote to build. Sketch designs are charged at £180. However larger or more complicated gardens may require more detailed plans and construction drawings for contractors to follow. Computer Aided Design may also be used in communicating the design.
